For the past year, I have been on the hunt for the perfect
nude lipstick. I feel like every single publication out has done an article on
this particular issue. The outcome is always that, everyone’s nudes are different. From British Vogue to Harper’s Bazaar, nude
is definitely defined differently across the board.
Where did my journey start you ask? It all came to me when I
was heading out with friends and was honestly tired of trying to get my bright
red lip to stay in place (“I shall try a nude!”). Mostly, the need for a
perfect nude lip comes from me still gravitating towards a more simple
routine. I do love a pop of color,
but I’m not a makeup artist. Living
in the city means we are all usually in a big rush to get everywhere, and
having to apply lipstick for 20 minutes in the morning isn’t cool.
Nude lips have been a staple for easy undone beauty. From
the all-American Calvin Klein runway to the glamour of even Christian Dior,
nude is here to stay. For each girl, nude can mean a world of different things
as discussed before. Everyone has different skin tones, lip shapes, and overall
needs.
Think about what you need in a nude lipstick. Do you want a natural nude, a darker
nude, or maybe even a pinker color? Things like this matter (it’s getting
deep). Nude lipsticks are great for just showing off your natural lip shape, or
even enhancing it. The texture is
also a big deal. Think about what suits you best in this instance. There's the
traditional lipstick, lip pencils, or even glosses -- if you're that
type of glamour girl. There're a lot of choices to be made in finding the
perfect nude, but I promise once you do life will be nine-teen minutes easier. That
meaning that it will only take you about one minute tops to perfect your look
every day.
With all of this being said, a congrats is in order. I have
found my perfect nude! I've been living by Mac’s lip pencil in "Spice." It
goes on matte and stays put, and makes my routine really easy. It’s also
awesome to just be able to throw it any where in my bag. It makes my pout a little more defined
with its perfect dusty red undertones without being too pronounced. Chloé’s favorite nude is the Chanel Le
Crayon Levres #9 Rouge Noir in Vamp which is more dark -- we seem to be pencil girls in this
instance.
Most importantly, here's a fabulous compilation of nudes
for all of you out there searching:
Chanel Le Crayon Levres precision lip definer in (Beige Satin 89 and Tulip 31), Tom Ford Lipstick from the fall 2014 collection in (Twist of Fate, Negligee, and a new
cult favorite Sable Smoke), Dior Rouge Dior available in timeless shades like (317 Bar and Nude 319) which is exclusively sold at Saks, and lastly the new eight radiant shades that take NUDE to another level also by Dior that plumps and smoothes lips for an elegant finish.
What is your idea of the perfect nude? Tell me everything, leave nothing out.
